EDGING IMMANUIL. RENUNCIATION OF BELIEF IS LOW

In April, 1794 to the Edging it was executed seventy. Anniversary celebrations was not, as during this period the philosopher has taken a way of confrontation with the Prussian authorities. As the reason the writing of some articles in which the author sneered concerning church dogmas has served. New king Fridrih Wilhelm II did not suffer freethinking. The former motto ' Argue, but obey ' has given way more habitual - ' Obey, without arguing '.

Nevertheless on the eve of the anniversary the Edging has published article ' the End of all real ' which became last drop, exhaust all patienced the authorities. Hearings about preparing punishment over the philosopher have spread. Despite it, summer of the same year the Russian Academy of Sciences has selected its member.

Geographer I.I.Georgi extolling not only ' to the Critic of pure reason ', but also ' Recommended the Edging Physical geography ', then yet not published and known only as a lecture course. Quite probably that the philosopher has received approving words from Petersburg simultaneously with the hail which has followed from Berlin. The Prussian government long puzzled over how to punish the world famous scientist and not to please thus in an awkward situation.

At last the collecting form has been found: in October, 1794 the Edging was reprimanded by the king, but anybody about it has not learnt, as the royal decree has not been published, and has come as the private letter. To refuse the sights was, not in Edging rules, to show resistance - was to it not on forces. On casually turned up piece of paper it has formulated the unique tactics of the behaviour: ' Renunciation of internal belief is low, but silence in a case similar to the present, is a debt of the citizen; if everything that you speak, should be true not necessarily publicly to state all true '. The well-known statement of the philosopher concerns this time also: ' Longest live when least care of life prolongation '.
