| Galileo was ill suddenly, at 30-year-old age. Under the invitation of friends it has arrived to one of hot summer days to stay for a while on a rich country house. Owners have hospitably received visitors and have shown them an unusual room - present ' the eighth miracle of the world '! The matter is that even in painful heat in this premise the pleasant cool always reigned. The miracle secret was simple enough: in a room floor there was a hatch of mine which incorporated to caves of the thrown stone quarries where the constant temperature always kept.
For visitors it was offered to them to have a rest in ' rest of eternal spring ', all has terminated tragically. Probably, disastrous there was a draught, or air evaporations of caves were poisonous, or there was other reason. But anyway, one of visitors has died in some days of stay in a room, another has lost hearing and too has soon died, and Galilej hard was ill. The sharpest inflammation of joints has appeared incurable, and the scientist till the end of a life bore this heavy cross. Periodically painful pains for some weeks, and even months put it to bed. For sociable and active Galilee it was hard test. But the main thing, illness prevented to work to it. Hardly the illness receded, the scientist came back to the researches, experiences, experiments.
One of the major scientific achievements Galilee is opening of a principle of the relativity which have become by a basis of the modern theory of a relativity. It included, first of all, studying of laws of free falling of bodies and their falling on an inclined plane; laws of movement of the body thrown at an angle to horizon; an establishment of preservation of mechanical energy at pendulum fluctuation.
Galilej has struck blow aristotelevskim to dogmatic representations about ' absolutely easy bodies ' (fire, air); in a number of witty experiences it has shown that air has weight, and even has defined its density in relation to water.
