One of its friends wrote subsequently: ' On carrying out of a body of Dostoevsky were flew down ten thousand people: he was seen off with wreaths by representatives of different corporations, scientists and educational institutions, deputies from city societies of both capitals … It buried not native, not friends - it was buried by Russian society. All this applause has not been thought up by any circle, and has developed under the influence of one general feeling of loss, with one general thought pochtit memory of the favourite writer and the citizen '.

Dostoevsky's burial on a cemetery of the Aleksandro-Neva monastery on February, 1st, 1881 has taken place. On its tomb with speeches Vl have acted. Nightingales, A.I.Palm, A.N.Majkov, O.F.Miller, etc. In the performance of Nightingales has told that Dostoevsky loved ' first of all a live human soul in all and everywhere … trusted in the infinite divine force of human soul triumphing over any violence and over any internal falling …

And we who have gathered on a tomb, than can express the best the love to it, than the best to remember it as if we will agree and we will proclaim that Dostoevsky's love is our love and Dostoevsky's belief - our belief. Connected by love to it, we will try, that such love has connected us with each other. Then we only will render to adequately spiritual leader of Russian people for its great works and great sufferings '.

Contemporaries noticed that Russia yet did not know such funeral. Thousand people gathered in huge demonstrations to spend to a final journey of the writer, whose gift was perceived for a long time already as prophetical. And two trues - ' the Suffering gives rise to love and belief ' and ' the Beauty will save the world ', deduced by the writer and gained by all its hard life, - are entered henceforth by gold letters in history of creative thought of all mankind.
