EDGING IMMANUIL. THE CHILDHOOD. YEARS OF STUDY

Detstvo Immanuila has passed on suburb Kenigsberga among small traders and craft ljuda. The boy brought up in the conditions of respect for work, honesty and Puritan severity. Mother as could tried to strengthen poor health of the son, without forgetting thus both about formation, and about rules of moral behaviour.

In 1730 the six-year Edging has arrived in an elementary school, and after two years it have given to the state church grammar school - ' board Fridriha ', on Latin branch. Latin and divinity were the basic subjects there, studying of the Greek and Hebrew languages was obligatory also, facultative lessons on the mathematician, music were conducted, the French and Polish languages were studied. Thanks to natural abilities and diligence of Immanuil was considered as one of the best pupils of board.

Parents of the Edging and pastor Frants Albert Schultz fulfilling duties of the director of a grammar school, wanted, that the boy became the priest. But under the influence of the teacher of Latin language of Gendenrejha Immanuil has taken a great interest in antique poetry and philology and autumn of 1740 has arrived in Kenigsbergsky university.

Till now it is precisely not known, at what faculty he studied, as in the remained lists of students on it there are no instructions. At university existed four faculties, three of them - theological, medical and legal - concerned to ' the higher ', and philosophical - to ' the lowest '. According to Fridriha Wilhelm's order I students could be registered only on one of the higher faculties as ' ' competent employees were necessary to the soldier's king first of all, it concerned philosophy sceptically enough. The first biographers of the Edging believed that he has chosen theology, however, having analysed the list of subjects to which the future scientist paid the greatest attention, it is possible to draw a conclusion that he, most likely, studied at medical faculty.
