DESCARTES REN

(a sort. In 1596 - mind. In 1650)

the French philosopher, the founder of modern western philosophy, mathematics, physics and the physiologist. The author of some proceedings, among which ' the Reasoning on a method ', ' the World ', ' the philosophy Beginnings ', ' Rules for a mind management ', etc.

Here already three and a half a century the mankind lives in the shadow of the well-known statement of French philosopher Rene Descartes: cogito ergo sum - ' I think, means, I exist '. These three short Latin words have for a long time defined a way ' new philosophy ' - the concept which have become by border between antiquity and system scientific thinking of the Middle Ages. It sounded as if the spell which has closed philosophical thought on the fact of subjective consciousness.

In three simple words the decision to doubt in all till that time while the reason will not present something definitely demonstrable has been put. Such sight at knowledge meant overthrow of any authorities. With Descartes (latinizirovannoe a name of Kartezy) has been won freedom to lose which philosophy could not any more.

The Future well-known French scientist was born on March, 31st, 1596 in small town Laje (a province of Turen) in a notable family of noble family. Mother of the boy has died of illness of lungs when to it year was executed. Itself Ren health also did not differ, has been subject to colds and often was ill, delivering to relatives many afflictions. When to it it was executed ten years, the father has given it to one of the best educational institutions of the country - board La Flesh based by Jesuits with the consent of king Henry IV. Small Descartes as if denying a rule saying that geniuses study badly, was extremely diligent, the exemplary pupil and never aspired to overthrow of existing foundations and norms of the internal schedule.
